In 1995 to 1997, the largest commercial “entertainment” complex in northern Michigan, “Mackinaw Crossings”, was designed and developed by Green & Associates. Each of the shops within the development features an unique Victorian facade and color palate. All shops are contained within 3 open air courtyards of lush landscaping, fountains and colored walkways.

This project was conceived to enhance the growth of tourism in Mackinaw City that exploded in the mid-nineties. The tourism population of Mackinaw City had grown from one million tourists to 2 3/4 million in less than seven years. The necessity to service and entertain these tourists was recognized by the Green & Associates team. The initial four acre parcel grewXto a 10.6-acre development because the complex was instantly recognized to be a desirable commercial development for potential lessors.
