NOTE: The Business Appraisal Program (BEA)
The BAE program was developed to improve the practice of appraising businesses, meet the challenging task of valuing business entities and to inspire others to leave their mark of excellence within this discipline. Unlike real estate appraising, there are no licensing requirements of individuals performing business appraisals. The Michigan Association Real Estate Appraisers (MAREA) believes that in today’s society only the most qualified and competent of individuals will survive. MAREA has taken steps to improve the business valuation field by establishing a unique designation program with a new set of educational criteria. The program takes the appraiser through valuing a business entity for numerous uses: highest and best use, offering of sale, estate, marital dissolution, partnership dissolution, bankruptcy, and financing. Clients will recognize that individuals attaining the BAE designation are qualified to solve their business appraisal needs. |
